‘Sons of Anarchy’ Season 5: Will A Major Character Die Next Week?

Sheesh, already? As if the 'Sons of Anarchy' season 5 premiere "Sovereign" wasn't horrifyingly brutal enough, it seems like the Grim Reaper will soon return for at least one more of our favorite characters, though this time they won't be so minor. Get ready to say goodbye, 'Sons of Anarchy' fans, as we've just learned that one major character will bite the bullet (figuratively, OR literally) in next week's "Laying Pipe"! But which six are on the chopping block, and who has the best odds?

'Sons of Anarchy' creator Kurt Sutter isn't playing around this season, as Entertainment Weekly has learned that he plans to kill a major character in only the season's third episode, "Laying Pipe."  Those who have been keeping up with 'Sons of Anarchy' season 5 will remember that season premiere "Sovereign" climaxed in a particularly grizzly manner, as new big bad Damon Pope (Harold Perrineau) burned Tig (Kim Coates)'s daughter alive in a pit as retaliation for a prior accident that caused the death of Pope's own daughter.

This time around, the reaper won't come for a minor character, as while FX obviously wouldn't reveal a name, they did suggest six possible candidates for the axe. Unless you're wary of spoilers, we'd keep your eyes on either Tig, Clay, Tara, Juice, Opie or Unser! A case could be made for any one of the above, of course, but for our money we're placing bets on either Opie or Unser, both characters who don't seem to have very much story to tell these days.
