Marvel’s ‘Spider-Man’ Introduces Harry Osborn and More in New Origin Clip
We’re all familiar enough with Spider-Man’s origin that the new film will ignore explanations entirely, but there’s no shame in going back to basics if they look this good. Meet the cast of Marvel’s new animated Spider-Man with an extended origin clip for the summer premiere!
Disney XD released a new four-minute short detailing the Oscorp backstory that gave the new Marvel’s Spider-Man his amazing powers. We also meet Harry Osborn, Alistair Smythe and Liz Allan, while Entertainment Weekly reveals that the new shorts will launch daily on Disney XD and Disney XD’s YouTube channel from July 24 to July 29.
Rumored to include Spider-Gwen and Miles Morales, the new series is headed up by story editor Kevin Shinick and supervising director Philip Pignotti, previously of Marvel’s Avengers Assemble. Says Disney XD boss Marc Buhaj said of the series:
Spider-Man is the biggest action hero in the world. He is an iconic character whose duality makes him both relatable and aspirational for the Disney XD audience. [The new series is] a fresh take on a beloved classic that will engage both new and existing Spidey fans with its compelling drama, exciting action and the signature sense of comedy.
Marvel’s Spider-Man will premiere on Disney XD at an undetermined point this summer, so stay tuned.
