T.J. Miller has such an incredible natural comedic gift that his mere presence alone almost guarantees that you’re going to laugh in less than 10 seconds. And now he’s bringing that talent to Ready Player One, the upcoming adaptation of Ernest Cline’s nostalgia-heavy sci-fi novel. But don’t think Miller’s going all serious on us now that he’s starring in a Steven Spielberg movie.

THR reports that Miller will play the role of i-R0k, which is, as you might guess, his character’s online handle. i-R0k is an obnoxious gamer who spends a lot of time trolling the forums of the virtual reality world known as Oasis, and if ever there was an ideal actor for the role of “obnoxious internet troll,” T.J. Miller is it. That’s a role that requires a specific sort of arrogance — the kind that’s unearned and sort of sad, which is basically the role he plays on Silicon Valley. It also requires someone capable of rattling off a series of insults (likely of the profane variety), which is something Miller did very well in Deadpool. (So well, in fact, that they wound up with a ton of outtakes from his scenes.)

Miller joins a cast that includes Tye Sheridan, Olivia Cooke, Ben Mendelsohn, Simon Pegg and Spielberg BFF Mark Rylance. Ready Player One centers on a young gamer (Sheridan) and his mission to find a hidden easter egg in a vast virtual landscape after its elusive and eccentric creator dies. Along the way he’ll meet allies and compete with ruthless corporate enemies.

Ready Player One hits theaters on March 30, 2018.
