If you're growing impatient waiting for JJ Abrams' 'Star Trek' sequel to hit, you'll be able to tide yourself over early next year once the brand new 'Star Trek' video game hits consoles and puts you in the shoes of beloved characters Kirk and Spock.

The teaser trailer and concept art courtesy of Coming Soon shows a fully immersive experience, packed with cinematic action sequences and all the compelling sci-fi elements we love about the series. Though slash fiction writers will likely be disappointed at the lack of ability to get the characters to have sex with each other.

Digital Extremes, the developers behind the fantastic 'Bioshock 2' and 'Dark Sector' worked on the game written by BAFTA award winner Marianne Krawczyk. But if you're worried about the lack of Abrams' influence on the game, fear not: Krawczyk worked on the script with the help of 'Star Trek' film writers and Abrams collaborators Bob Orci, Alex Kurtzman, and Damon Lindelof.

Get ready to live long and prosper in your living room early next year, but please do remember to pause and go outside for some fresh air every once in a while, yeah?
