The upcoming Star Wars: Battlefront game has been confirmed by EA Games to be in development by DICE, with experienced Battlefield developers part of the team.

According to an article on CVG, executive vice president of EA Games, Patrick Soderlund, said that Battlefield producer Patrick Bach and DICE general manager Karl-Magnus Troedsson were on board with the project and were very enthusiastic about making the game.

Soderlund said, "It was just something as boring as resources and availability. The DICE guys Karl-Magnus [Troedsson] and Patrick [Bach] were talking and I told them we were in dialogues with Disney over this deal and they just looked at me and said, 'why haven't you spoken to us? What are you doing? We want to make Battlefront'."

He went on to remark that he didn't expect them to want to make Battlefront since they always worked on new IPs or their own existing IPs, but they seemed to be excited by the thought of developing a Battlefront game.

Bach and a slew of other developers who have worked on Battlefield games throughout the years will be developing Battlefront, which hopefully means that we'll see a lot of great, 'Star Wars'-flavored multiplayer battles in the future.

Let us know what you think of DICE working on the Battlefront game and whether or not you're excited to play it.
