This past weekend, an unsubstantiated rumor arose from the internet that indicated Benedict Cumberbatch would be seen donning a cape of some kind in 'Star Wars: Episode 7.' While we wait on official confirmation, we can still play along: do you think the 'Sherlock' and 'Star Trek Into Darkness' star is a good fit for the 'Star Wars' universe?

It remains a fact that any person who has been in a J.J. Abrams movie before will be connected to his 'Star Wars' film, as indicated with actors such as Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Simon Pegg and Zachary Quinto being brought up in the conversation. (We're still waiting for someone to claim Tom Cruise will be a Sith lord.) While 'Star Wars' rumors are a dime a dozen - and almost none of them should be taken as gospel - the Cumberbatch one is particularly intriguing.

Why? Because, more than any of the other actors, we can actually picture the 'Sherlock' lead fitting quite snugly into the epic franchise. Something about that face, that immaculate voice, the tall, lanky body ... he'd make an excellent Jedi, no doubt, but he'd probably be just as imposing as a villain: maybe a high-ranking member of the Galactic Empire? Or even a bounty hunter?

It's all speculation at the moment, but we're certain you have an opinion on the matter. Vote in our poll and comment below!
