'Star Wars: Episode 7' still hasn't announced its director but one of the names that has been on the list since Day 1 is 'Avengers' director Joss Whedon. He's busy working on both the 'S.H.I.E.L.D.' TV series and 'The Avengers 2' but is there room for 'Star Wars: Episode 7' in that equation?

We know that Joss Whedon won't be directing 'Star Wars: Episode 7' but despite his busy workload, the director admits that he did briefly consider taking the job, even if it for it was just a brief moment. Whedon told CNN:

When I heard that I was like, “I wonder...no, I really can’t do that. Oh, I already have a job." I wouldn’t clear the Avengers. I’m having so much fun with that sequel right now, just with the script, that I couldn’t imagine not doing it.

Now consider for a moment that Disney owns both Marvel and Lucasfilm so if Whedon really wanted to have directed 'Star Wars: Episode 7,' it's possible they could've figured out a way to make it work. But that plan very likely would've sacrificed the quality of one or both of the films. So while it's disappointing to hear that Whedon won't be working on a 'Star Wars' movie, it's good to know that he's completely dedicated to the 'Avengers' universe.

As for what he would've done on 'Star Wars: Episode 7,' Whedon says, "I’d like to see a little edge. I think we’d all like to see a little anarchy in the mix."
