The 'Star Wars: Episode 7' universe is getting blown wide open! Just yesterday, following a rumor that fan favorite Jedi master Yoda would be getting his own 'Star Wars' spinoff movie, Disney CEO Bob Iger revealed that Lucasfilm was in fact working on stand-alone films for "great 'Star Wars' characters," though none were specified at the time. But guess what! We don't have to wait any longer as the first two characters to get their own movies have been revealed.

Entertainment Weekly has just learned that the first 'Star Wars' characters getting their own separate spinoff movies outside of the 'Star Wars: Episode 7' trilogy are none other than Han Solo and Boba Fett!

Although they're still early in the making, sources close to the projects, which writers Larry (Lawrence) Kasdan and Simon Kinberg are working on as we speak, say they will center on "a young Han Solo saga, focusing on the wisecracking smuggler’s origin story, and a bounty hunter adventure with Boba Fett at the center of a rogue’s gallery of galactic scum." Could these plans change? Yes, but so far this is where the talk is heading.

As EW reports, Han Solo's spinoff film will take place in the time period between 'Star Wars: Episode 3 - Revenge of the Sith' and 'Star Wars: A New Hope,' while Boba Fett's will either occur between 'A New Hope' and 'The Empire Strikes Back,' or between 'Empire Strikes Back' and 'Return of the Jedi.' Not only that, but these story lines also mean that famed 'Star Wars' villain Darth Vader could be making appearances along with Jabba the Hutt, though at this point those character involvements are just wishful thinking.

Still no word on who exactly could be portraying these characters, or who will be tackling directing duties just yet. Also unknown are the exact release dates, though Iger stated the other day that these 'Star Wars' spinoff films would be released over a six-year period alongside the new 'Episode 7'-led trilogy.

What do you think? Are you happy to see Han Solo and Boba Fett as the first two characters to get their 'Star Wars: Episode 7'/'Star Wars' spinoff movies? Which other characters would you like to see follow suit? Give us your theories in the comments.
