‘Star Wars: Episode 7′ Trailer Description: What Will We See in the First Footage?
The ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ trailer is coming soon. Very soon. This much we know. The footage is edited and, according to reports, composer John Williams recorded the new music for the trailer this weekend. But, what we all want to know, is what the ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ trailer will look like. And, now we have a pretty good idea.
Spoilers ahead (assuming there’s such a thing as spoilers for a trailer)…
Badass Digest is passing along a description of the trailer, based on someone who has seen an early cut. According to their report, the trailer is only about one minute long. It slowly introduces the audience to all the characters of the film (“flashing images of the main leads, each fading to black”) with no narration, only the woodwind sounds of the ‘Star Wars’ theme. Then we hear, offscreen, a woman’s voice saying, “Wake up,” as the logo appears and the orchestra swells. Then, the money shot: The Millennium Falcon races toward the camera, firing its blasters.
There’s still no confirmation on how and when we’ll get our first look at the ‘Star Wars’ trailer. We’ve heard reports that it will be attached to ‘The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies’ in theaters, but there are also rumors of Disney’s ‘Into the Woods’ (we’ll guess it will be both, but because ‘The Hobbit’ comes first, it will technically count as the debut.) There’s also the possibility of using the ‘Star Wars’ trailer to get people to tune into ABC, not unlike what Disney and Marvel tried to do with ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ and ‘Avengers 2’ before a bootleg ruined that plan.
We’ll guess that the online trailer debut is about three weeks away, just about one year before ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ opens in theaters on December 18, 2015.
