It probably wouldn’t take much for a new Star Wars sequel to be better than the prequels, and while we’re all very excited for The Force Awakens, some fans have a vague, nagging fear in the back of their mind that maybe — just maybe — J.J. Abrams made something that isn’t as good as we hoped. Adam Driver is here to soothe your fears, assuring fans that The Force Awakens is most definitely better than the prequels.

Vice profiled Driver as he teamed up with Natasha Lyonne to put on a special performance for members of the military. As the pair promote their show in the mess hall, one soldier asks Driver, “You’re in the new Star Wars, right?” The actor says he can’t divulge any secrets, so the soldier asks if it’s better than the prequels, to which Driver hilariously, confidently replies, “Yeah, f—k yeah.” So there you go.

Like I said, it wouldn’t take much for Abrams to deliver something better than any of George LucasStar Wars prequels — Step One: No Jar-Jar Binks. Step Two: … Step Three: Profit.

Okay, it’s more complicated than that, but the prequels set a pretty low bar, so even if The Force Awakens isn’t phenomenal, the best case scenario is that Abrams made something that’s totally decent and enjoyable.

As for Driver’s appearance at the military post, the actor is a former Marine who was discharged after suffering an injury, which eventually led to his pursuit of acting. He’s spoken about it often, and it’s nice to see him giving back to our men and women in uniform.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens arrives on December 18. That’s five days, guys.
