The connections between 'Star Wars Rebels' and the new J.J. Abrams trilogy got a heck of a lot more interesting this past week if recent rumors are to be believed, but for the moment at least, we're only just getting to know our cast of 'Rebels' in advance of the fall premiere. Speaking of which, how's about a brand-new short clip from the animated 'Star Wars' series, showing off spunky Mandalorian Sabine as she lends her particular brand of style to a Stormtrooper base?

Airing in tonight after Disney XD's 'Gravity Falls' (9:00 P.M.), the new 'Star Was Rebels' short "Art Attack" marks the second of four all-new shorts to air on Mondays in promotion of the series. Following last week's TIE fighter assault led by Twi'lek pilot Hera (Vanessa Marshall) and cowboy Jedi Kanan (Freddie Prinze Jr.), today's newest clip features Sabine (Tiya Sircar) doling out her particular brand of artsy rebellion on a grounded TIE, before leading local Stormtroopers on a merry chase to find her.

Premiering this fall on Disney XD, ‘Star Wars Rebels’ features a cast that also includes the Luke Skywalker-esque Ezra Bridger (Noah Taylor), cat-like astromech droid Chopper, and the brutish and brilliant Zeb (Steve Blum). 'The Butler' star David Oyelowo will play the recurring villain Agent Kallus, while 'Harry Potter' baddie Jason Isaacs voices the Jedi-hunting Inquisitor.

Picking up where the canceled ‘Clone Wars‘ left off, ‘Star Wars Rebels’ will feature screenwriter and producer Simon Kinberg ('X-Men: Days of Future Past'), who wrote the first episode, on the creative side. Elsewhere, here’s everything we know from the official ‘Star Wars Rebels’ logline:

‘Star Wars Rebels’ continues the epic tradition of the legendary ‘Star Wars’ saga with all-new exciting, action-packed adventures. It is a dark time in the galaxy, as the evil Galactic Empire tightens its grip of power from world to world. As the series begins, Imperial forces have occupied a remote planet, ruling with an iron fist and ruining the lives of its people.

But there are a select few who are brave enough to stand up against the endless Stormtroopers and TIE fighters of the Empire: the clever and motley crew of the starship “Ghost.” Together, this ragtag group will face threatening new villains, have thrilling adventures, and become heroes.
