Disney's 'Star Wars Rebels' won't formally debut its "Spark of the Rebellion" until tomorrow night on the Disney Channel (or right now, with a TV provider), but the entertainment conglomerate is unsurprisingly remaining invested in its new animated frontier. 'Star Wars Rebels' season 2 has officially been confirmed renewed for 2015, no doubt working toward its ties with the inevitable 'Star Wars 7.'

“We all love making ‘Rebels,’ so we couldn't be happier that it's moving into a second season,” says Lucasfilm VP of creative development Kiri Haret “Our fantastic creative team is dreaming up new stories for the crew of the Ghost that will expand their experience of the galaxy and deepen their heroes’ journeys. The fan response to the show has been amazing, humbling and inspiring. We're looking forward to the adventure ahead.”

No word yet on exactly how many episodes 'Star Wars Rebels' season 2 will run for, though the first has been scheduled for a grand total of 16, debuting with tomorrow's "movie" feature, and formally beginning its Disney XD run on October 13.

Picking up where the canceled ‘Clone Wars‘ left off, here’s everything we know from the official ‘Star Wars Rebels’ logline:

‘Star Wars Rebels’ continues the epic tradition of the legendary ‘Star Wars’ saga with all-new exciting, action-packed adventures. It is a dark time in the galaxy, as the evil Galactic Empire tightens its grip of power from world to world. As the series begins, Imperial forces have occupied a remote planet, ruling with an iron fist and ruining the lives of its people.

But there are a select few who are brave enough to stand up against the endless Stormtroopers and TIE fighters of the Empire: the clever and motley crew of the starship “Ghost.” Together, this ragtag group will face threatening new villains, have thrilling adventures, and become heroes.
