‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Character Posters Revealed!
Just because there won’t be any more Star Wars trailers, doesn’t mean that’s the last of the Star Wars marketing. In fact, far from it. Today we have a whole bunch of new Star Wars: The Force Awakens character posters including Han Solo, Princess Leia, Finn, Rey and Kylo Ren!
Unfortunately there’s no big Luke Skywalker reveal today, but we did get closer looks (very close) at the rest of the cast including some familiar faces and some of the new additions to the Star Wars family. The photos were shared across social media with John Boyega, Daisy Ridley and Carrie Fisher debuting their posters on Instagram and Twitter. Harrison Ford and Adam Driver are not on social media, so those were shared on the Star Wars Facebook pages.
Said Ridley of her new poster: “IT’S REY!!! Looking all freckly from the Jakku sun and as if there’s an adventure to be had!!!” Boyega added the hashtag to his poster #HeHasSomethingToFightFor. And Kylo Ren’s poster came with the ominous quote from the trailer, “I will finish what you’ve started…”
The posters are consistent in that something — a blaster, lightsaber, laser — crosses vertically down the face of each character over their right eye. Whether this is meant to highlight the duality of the force, or is just a fancy design function, we'll leave up to you.
There are only five Star Wars: The Force Awakens character posters at this point, for the characters listed above, but we’ll continue to keep our eye out for anything Poe Dameron related as the day continues.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens in theaters on December 18.
