Stephen Amell Is Cool With DC Movies Casting Another Green Arrow
Arrow star Stephen Amell hasn’t been shy speaking his mind about DC movies keeping separate from the ever-expanding TV universe, something that once landed him in a Flash of hot water. It remains to be seen if the movies would ever feature their own Green Arrow with a new actor, but either way, consider Amell’s blessing officially given.
Amell made an appearance at Salt Lake Comic Con with co-star David Ramsey this past weekend, addressing a few persistent questions of his attitude toward DC movies. The five-year Arrow star previously spoke out about Warner Bros. announcing Ezra Miller’s Flash within days of the TV series premiere, but has since clarified that Grant Gustin doesn’t necessarily have ownership of the role.
The same apparently goes for himself and Oliver Queen, as Amell is open to a new Green Arrow showing up in the DC Extended Universe, should the day arrive:
I do not have a right to Oliver Queen. Someone played it before me. Someone voiced it before me. Somebody will play it after me. I don’t believe that there are plans for Oliver Queen in the DC Extended Universe, based off things that people have told me, but I would not be upset if that changed at all.
The divide between DC movies and TV has gotten somewhat fuzzier in recent months, with the addition of Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman to an Arrow-verse adjacent Supergirl, but would fans of the CW series be as forgiving of a celluloid Green Arrow?
