Though Alexander Payne dismissed much of their original script, Nat Faxon and Jim Rash (aka Dean Pelton from 'Community') are Academy award winners. And so their next project lets them direct, and for their feature film debut 'The Way, Way Back' they plan on reteaming 'Little Miss Sunshine' stars Steve Carell and Toni Collette.

Variety reports that the film will focus on a teenager who's mom (Collette) isn't out of it, and her step-dad (Carell) is a drinker and a philanderer. The film will also feature Sam Rockwell and Alison Janney.

It's great for Rash and Faxon to get this chance, though there's a lingering doubt that Payne might be right about their abilities. Rash and Faxon have primarily been actors before, with Rash obviously on 'Community,' but had a great supporting role in 2005's 'Sky High.' Faxon is probably best known for his work with the comedy troupe Broken Lizard, with one of his biggest roles in their 'Beerfest.'

They've got themselves a great cast to play with, and they've got the credits to get this indie drama in theaters. Carell is obviously keeping busy as he's also got 'Foxcatcher' - the Bennett Miller film - on his plate as well.
