Anyone and everyone knew that Netflix would be foolish not to renew Stranger Things for a second season, and it looks like we’re headed back to the Upside Down! Not only has Stranger Things 2 been confirmed to arrive in 2017, we’ve got your first teaser and details!

Netflix finally confirmed what we all knew must happen – namely that a sequel series dubbed “Stranger Things 2” will arrive in 2017. Creators Matt and Ross Duffer will remain aboard (along with executive producers Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen), this time plotting nine episodes to the first season’s eight. The teaser above also takes us to 1984 with some cryptic lines.

It remains to be seen exactly what a second season would entail, though we’ll expect at least some time jump to keep up with the young actors’ ages. We’ll also meet new characters and head deeper into the Upside Down, potentially investigating new concepts like that mysterious egg, or unused designs for the nightmare dimension.

Our long national nightmare of speculation is at least over, but what should we hope for from Stranger Things Season 2?
