After months of casting, pre-production photos and the state of Jared Leto’s hair affairs, Suicide Squad is officially, finally filming. Director David Ayer has been bucking the studio trend when it comes to superhero films, and he’s remained very open and communicative about the project on Twitter. Ayer made the official announcement today, so expect to see even more production photos over at his account soon.

Here’s Ayer’s official tweet:

Bravo 14 was the working title of the film, and is likely the name they’re operating under as filming commences in Toronto. Just last week, Ayer revealed the first photo of the entire cast (sans Jared Leto), revealing some new additions in the process: Ike Barinholtz, Adam Beach and Jim Parrack have joined the upcoming super-villain team-up alongside Joel Kinnaman’s Rick Flagg, Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn, Will Smith’s Deadshot, Jai Courtney’s Captain Boomerang, Cara Delevingne’s Enchantress, Jared Leto’s Joker, Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller, and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje’s Killer Croc.

Jesse Eisenberg is rumored to be reprising his Batman v Superman role as Lex Luthor in Suicide Squad, although those rumors have not been confirmed. What Ayer did confirm was Leto’s successful hair transition to play the Joker — his hair has been a source of ridiculous attention since pre-production began. Rest assured, Leto’s hair is now green.

Suicide Squad hits theaters on August 5, 2016.
