Some might call them second-tier superheros but the DC trio of Batgirl, Supergirl and Wonder Girl finally got their close-up in this past weekend's Cartoon Network premiere of the animated short 'Super Best Friends Forever.'

Cartoon Network

The animated short is bursting with cuteness, thanks to 'Powerpuff Girls' and 'My Little Pony' artist, Lauren Faust. In the one-minute and sixteen-second short, Batgirl and Supergirl try to talk an unwilling Wonder Girl into taking her big sister's invisible jet for a spin. It's a fun, spunky intro to a series that's sure to charm DC fans as well as anyone with a weakness for cute animated chicks.

So far, the only complaint about 'Super Best Friends Forever' seems to be that it's too short. However if there's a demand for it, it's possible Cartoon Network could develop the DC Nation Short into a full-on series. One can only imagine the hi-jinx that will ensue if these saucer-eyed superheros get their own show.
