Calista Flockhart’s Cat Grant Returns to ‘Supergirl’ in ‘Resist’ Trailer

Supergirl Season 2 has entered the home stretch, and with it, many familiar faces have come out to play. First and foremost, Season 1 regular Calista Flockhart is back in Vancouver, reprising her role as Cat Grant in a first trailer for penultimate Season 2 outing “Resist.”

Now that National City is facing a full-on Daxamite invasion, the trailer for next week’s penultimate Supergirl Season 2 episode reveals that Calista Flockhart’s Cat Grant is regrettably caught in the middle of it. Grant hasn’t been seen since the second Season 2 outing (Flockhart understandably didn’t make the full-time Vancouver transition), though the character will also be present for the May 22 finale.

So reads the “Resist” synopsis:

CAT GRANT RETURNS - Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) grapples with whether or not to obey the President’s (guest star Lynda Carter) orders regarding Rhea’s (guest star Teri Hatcher) latest actions. Meanwhile, Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart) returns to National City.

Of course, Calista Flockhart isn’t the only big name populating the final Supergirl Season 2 episodes, as May 22 finale “Nevertheless, She Persisted” will also see Tyler Hoechlin reprising his role as Superman alongside Sharon Leal’s Miss Martian. The outing will also see Man of Steel star Mark Gibbon playing General Zod in a mysterious capacity that may or may not have to do with introducing Season 3’s villain.
