Livewire, Metallo and More ‘Supergirl’ Villains Returning in 2017

Supergirl Season 2 hasn’t lacked for notable DC villains, between Parasite, Roulette and more, but 2017 could prove even more charged. Multiple favorites from the series and Superman’s rogues gallery are signing up for 2017 returns, including Livewire, Metallo and more.

Per TVLine, both Brit Morgan’s Livewire and Frederick Schmidt’s Metallo will be cropping back up at undetermined points in the back half of Season 2, along with other “fan-favorite” villains (according to EP Ali Adler). Schmidt’s John Corben appeared in Season 2's inaugural episodes (earning his “Metallo” moniker in the process), while Morgan’s literal shock-jock Leslie Willis appeared early in Season 1, eventually returning to team-up with Silver Banshee against Supergirl and The Flash.

Also on deck for the back half of Supergirl Season 2, we know DC trickster Mr. Mxyzptlk will be dropping by for two episodes, while another (or the same) pair of episodes will see Kara re-teaming with The Flash for a musical extravaganza. We’ll also learn a bit more of those mysterious folk chasing after Mon-El (Chris Wood), meet up with those pesky Dominators again, and hopefully check in with Calista Flockhart’s Cat Grant.

In the meantime, watch the first trailer for Kevin Smith’s “Supergirl Lives” below, and stay tuned for more from Supergirl’s 2017 return.
