Report: ‘Supergirl’ Finds its Mister Mxyzptlk in Peter Gadiot

Supergirl has skewed a bit more traditional with its adaptation of famous DC characters, but it was worth wondering how the series might tackle an impish trickster from the 5th Dimension. We may now know, as set photos appear to place Once Upon a Time star Peter Gadiot in the infamous role of Mister Mxyzptlk.

The CW has not officially confirmed as much, though numerous set photos from Vancouver production see Gadiot filming scenes alongside Melissa Benoist, and reportedly threatening to cause Super-mischief with a snap of his fingers. The character had reportedly been slated to appear in two episodes, while you can see some of the photos below:

The character has made live-action appearances in the original Superboy, as well as Lois & Clark (played by Howie Mandel), and was most most recently re-imagined in Smallville as a foreign exchange student who could influence the actions of those around him.

It’s also been theorized that the character’s two-episode role (and the nature of his powers) could have something to do with the Flash and Supergirl musical, but stay tuned for more on Supergirl Season 2 in the coming days.
