‘Supergirl’ Season 3 Gets New Trailer, Photos and First ‘Legion’-naire
It’s a good day to be a Supergirl fan. Not only does Kara Zor-El have a fresh trailer for Season 3’s October premiere, but also a brand-new round of photos, and a heroic new friend that may just prove the Legion of Superheroes are inbound.
Ahead of its October 9 return, Supergirl debuted a fresh trailer (hi, Mon-El!) and first photos from “Girl of Steel,” including a new look at Smallville alum Erica Durance as Kara’s mother, taking over from Laura Benanti. You’ll also note that Odette Annable’s “Worldkiller” Reign is very much still in human appearance, as Season 3 will begin with the character as single mom Samantha.
Still, Season 3’s premiere is only part of the story. As The CW now confirms, Supergirl will introduce Bollywood actress Amy Jackson as DC’s Saturn Girl, described as “a kind, smart, and strong-willed hero who uses her telekinetic ability to help those in need. She was born on Titan, one of Saturn’s moons, and arrives on Earth to help Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) battle one of her biggest threats.”
Saturn Girl is expressly noted as a comic member of the 30th century Legion of Superheroes, who themselves have repeatedly been alluded to on the CW series. Mon-El’s disappearance in the Season 2 finale also bore striking resemblance to his meeting the Legion in the comics, lending further credence to theories the full team will appear in Season 3.
We’ll find out more once Supergirl Season 3 premieres on Monday, October 9, so stay tuned for the latest.
