Just hours after airing two of its biggest finales in both 'Arrow' and 'Supernatural,' The CW has joined the Upfront ranks to introduce some major changes into its fall lineup. No longer paired together are 'Arrow' and 'Supernatural,' as the latter moves to Tuesdays to help launch 'Vampire Diaries' spinoff 'The Originals,' while 'Nikita's' confirmed final season will be held to 2014. Find out about the big CW schedule changes inside!

The hits just keep on coming! After NBC announced that it would renew five of its major series for additional 22-episode seasons, now The CW has followed suit with a few pickups of their own. Not only will 'The Vampire Diaries' spin-off 'The Originals' officially go to series, but freshman drama 'Beauty and the Beast' and Rachel Bilson's 'Hart of Dixie' will return for additional seasons as well!
Earlier today, news broke that NBC could be next in line to issue early renewals to the series of its current line-up, with plenty of shows on the bubble for cancellation. CBS and FOX have already issued mayor renewals, along with The CW's pickups for 'Arrow,' 'The Vampire Diaries' and 'Supernatural,' but what other CW series are on the chopping block? And which might get truncated final season orders bolstered by online sales?
The classic Walt Disney animated films have become ripe fodder for big budget live action remakes. They've already updated 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' twice, they've filmed a new version of 'Sleeping Beauty' ('Maleficent'), and are working on a re-imaging of 'Cinderella.' But they're far from done mining these classics, as Disney is now looking to do a new gritty version of 'Beauty and the Beast,' called 'The Beast.'
The CW has been enjoying some notable success this season, particularly with the breakout smash of 'Arrow,' though several other new efforts haven't quite caught on as wildly. 'Beauty and the Beast' has become a mild performer, while 'Emily Owens, M.D.' got off to a rocky start and been on a slow recovery, but there's good news for both. The CW has officially bumped 'Beauty' up to a full season, while 'Owens' is getting a blast from the past from a former 'Buffy' star.
We've reached that crucial time of the year in which networks evaluate how freshman series perform, and make decisions on how to go forward. FOX in particular has been fairly generous with its series, awarding additional episodes to 'The Mindy Project' and scripts for 'Ben and Kate,' but now we've learned that 'New Girl' and 'Raising Hope' will also get additional episodes! Meanwhile, what fate has The CW given to 'Beauty and the Beast' or 'Emily Owens M.D.?'
You know, we'd probably try to find fault with The CW's new poster for the forthcoming superhero drama 'Arrow,' featuring Stephen Amell as the titular hero clad only in trousers and a quiver, if not for the fact that comic books themselves shamefully exploit the male and female forms in a similar manner. That said, how would you like a fresh look at The CW's hottest new fall shows, including 'Arrow,' 'Beauty and the Beast,' and 'Emily Owens, M.D.'?
Boy, it's a small world, isn't it? And my, what a beauty-full choice for a new show-running team! Horrible, beast-ly puns aside, one of the entries for this fall's CW lineup has flown in a bit under the radar considering the popularity of its tail tale, and the star power behind it, but color us curious about the upcoming Kristin Kreuk-fronted remake of 'Beauty and the Beast.' The series already had a creative team in place, but what new duo has swooped in from up, up and away to join?
Far be it for them to let NBC steal all the thunder today with their whiplash-inducing list of renewals, pickups and cancellations, The CW has gotten in on the Upfront game once again by announcing five new pickups, in addition to their previously early-renewed series. Read on to learn who's going to start stockpiling shoes, or filling their quiver next season!
