When Paramount Pictures abruptly decided to pull 'G.I. Joe: Retaliation' off their release slate last year - just one month before it was to open - rumors began flying that the reason was to add more Channing Tatum, who unexpectedly became a sizable box office draw thanks to movies like 'The Vow' and '21 Jump Street' but was just a supporting player in the sequel.
Today, 'Joe' producer Lorenzo Di Bonaventura has squashed all hope of a significant extra amount of Tatum. Read the producer's words on the matter after the break.
We are all obsessed with Channing Tatum -- the guy appeals to men and women alike with his magnetic screen presence and charisma, but back before he was 'Magic Mike' or dancing in those 'Step Up' movies, you might have missed Tatum in these earlier roles.
We are big fans of Channing Tatum. (If you couldn't already tell, we're also big fans of the image above of Channing in drag from 'SNL'...) And it turns out, so are you. Facebook today released their 2012 trends and the top 10 movies for the year included a whole lot of Tatum.
Hey, remember when 'G.I. Joe: Retaliation' was going to come out a few months ago? The film was unceremoniously pushed back just weeks before its release date and is now set for release on March 27 (in 3D). To help remind you all about this 'G.I. Joe 2' we've got a brand new poster.
2012 was the Year of the Channing Tatum (and rightfully so - dude was brilliant across the board). He starred in 'Magic Mike,' '21 Jump Street,' 'The Vow' and 'Haywire' (and would've starred in 'G.I. Joe: Retaliation' had that film not been pushed back a year). He was named People's "Sexiest Man Alive" and Entertainment Weekly called him one of the "Entertainer of the Year." But all that could be coming to a close as Tatum is looking to take a break and focus on the next phase of his career: directing.
'Side Effects' is a psychological thriller not unlike director Steven Soderbergh's previous film, 'Contagion.' This film stars Rooney Mara, Channing Tatum and Jude Law wrapped up in the world of pharmaceutical research and experimentation that can have a devastating effect on people's lives. The film hits theaters in 2013 and you can watch the new trailer now.
Hey guys, remember when 'G.I. Joe: Retaliation' was set to come out this summer, but then it was pushed back to next March? Here's a reminder in the form of a brand new international trailer with plenty of fresh footage to get you excited all over again.
