Director James Gunn Reveals His Favorite Films of 2014
James Gunn had a very busy 2014 with the release of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy,’ Marvel’s superhero space opera, which went on to become one of the hugest films of the year. But even though Gunn was preoccupied with Marvel business, that didn’t keep him from seeing a lot of great films besides the one he directed, and the director has finally revealed his favorite films of 2014. Unsurprisingly, ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ is one of them.

While standing in the hallway of New York’s Waldorf Astoria, Emily Blunt approached me, assertively, and said, “We’ve met before.” This happens from time to time before interviews, even from people I’ve never met, but it’s usually with an I hope I’m right question uptick at the end. This seemed different. I responded, “We have, Comic-Con two years ago. There’s no way you remember that.” Chit chat continued and, it was at this point, that a publicist approached us and asked that we not conduct an interview in the hallway, so we were led into a hotel conference room with a big round table. Even in a desolate room like this one, Blunt has the ability to be on and funny when nothing funny should ever happen in a room like this.

What We're Thankful For in Movies and TV in 2014
Another Thanksgiving is upon us, which means we'll gather around tables with friends and family and be asked to share what we're thankful for. Here at ScreenCrush, we think now is a good time to reflect on the wonderful bounty that has been delivered to us from the benevolent creators of film and television throughout 2014. This year has given us much to be grateful for, and so now we say thanks as we prepare to stuff our faces and fall into meat and pie comas (and ready ourselves for that 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' trailer).

On Tuesday, Vulture published a story breaking down where in the world Tom Cruise is the most popular. As it turns out, Iceland really loves Tom Cruise. Lost a little bit in the celebration for Cruise’s popularity in Iceland is that, of the countries listed, Cruise comes in dead last in Greece. For some reason, Tom Cruise is not popular in Greece.

On Monday, Warner Bros. sent out an email asking a few members of the media to use social media and help get the word out about ‘Edge of Tomorrow.’ This was remarkable for a couple of reasons. First, this wasn’t a typical press release kind of thing; it read as an impassioned plea. Second, I’ve never really seen anything like this before.

Weekend Box Office: 'The Fault in Our Stars' Cruises to Top
Ah, the summer. The time of the year where the box office is ruled by superhero movies, science fiction extravaganzas and, uh, slightly quirky cancer weepies. What? For reasons that will baffle some people, 'The Fault in Our Stars' effortlessly took the number one spot at the box office this weekend, gliding past its bigger, more expensive and more ferocious competition and making it look easy.

Emily Blunt Is the Real Action Star of 'Edge of Tomorrow'
Audiences will flock to theaters this weekend to see 'Edge of Tomorrow,' the latest sci-fi action flick featuring Tom Cruise in his natural environment: running from things, shouting, touting some guns, and fighting off a serious alien threat. But what viewers will be wonderfully surprised to discover is that Cruise isn't the real action star of his own film. Instead, it's Emily Blunt, best known for previous supporting roles in 'The Devil Wears Prada' and 'Looper,' and someone you'd least suspect.
