'Godzilla' hasn't been on the big screen for some time now, and although everyone's a bit preoccupied with superhero movies and 'Star Wars: Episode 7' updates, we're still aching to see this latest reboot of the franchise. While we're waiting for this whole drama with the producers to get sorted out, how about some reports on the plot for 2014's 'Godzilla'?
Updates on the 'Godzilla' reboot have stormed the web as of late, the first instance earlier today in regards to the production start date, for which the studio is eyeing March, and the second for the ex-'Walking Dead' showrunner Frank Darabont stepping in to pen a final rewrite of the script. With all this talk swirling about, it's now being reported that the shortlist of names to take on the lead has surfaced from a number of sources. So which actors are getting the most buzz?
Back at Comic-Con 2012, we saw a surprise teaser trailer for the 'Godzilla' reboot. It looked amazing. But what we didn't get was any clear idea when the film would start filming or hit theaters. It was all theoretically possible that the film would fall apart. But today we get some good news as it's confirmed that the new era of 'Godzilla' will begin filming in March.
The first 'Godzilla' trailer is coming, folks. Are you prepared? We know we are, especially if it's along the lines of the mega-cool preview shown at San Diego Comic-Con this past July. Though he will be turning sixty years old, it looks like Godzilla still has some life left in him, even after Roland Emmerich had his way with the beast. Warner Brothers has just announced that 'Godzilla,' the Gareth Edwards reboot, will be hitting screens May 16, 2014, and it will be hitting in three dimensions.
In between the Pacific Rim and Hobbit footage showcased at the Comic-Con 2012 Warner Bros. panel, Thomas Tull, the exec from Legendary Pictures, whipped a secret out of his ear.
The lights darkened, some vaguely Japanese calligraphy font gave the company titles, some gong-like percussion was heard and...
We'll have full coverage for the Warner Bros. Comic Con panel up soon (UPDATE: Here it is!), but here's a sneak peek: it blew the roof right off of Hall H. Among the already-jam-packed line-up was the surprise premiere of the teaser trailer for Gareth Edwards' new take on 'Godzilla.' You'll be be able to read the juicy details in a bit, but in the meantime, you can check out the first poster for the sure-to-be-epic film.
