It was recently announced that Paramount's big reboot of the 'Jack Ryan' franchise would be pushed to a January, 2014 release; a move that left many wondering if this was any indication of the film's quality. It's always surprising when high-profile movies change their opening days with only months or weeks to spare. Coming on the heels of the unfortunate news that author Tom Clancy passed away last night, the first poster for 'Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit' -- inspired by the character created by Clancy -- has been revealed. The poster for the film, which stars Chris Pine in the Ryan role, prominently features Clancy's name -- seems like a pretty fitting tribute to the late author.

Tom Clancy, the hugely successful and prolific author behind the Jack Ryan series of books and multiple video game franchises, died at a hospital last night in Baltimore at the age of 66. His publisher confirmed the news to the New York Times but no cause of death has been announced.
