We come to the end of another week, which means it's time for another Dose of Ridiculous. In this week's edition: What Kathie Lee did to a puppy, New Zealand's new Middle Earth currency, what 'Jurassic Park 4' thankfully never was, and a really bad teaser for a movie starring Lindsay Lohan and a porn star.
Steven Spielberg first brought us onto the dino-riddled island in 'Jurassic Park.' For 'Jurassic Park 2,' the dinos came to us, and 'Jurassic Park 3' brought some familiar faces back from the first. Not much is known about what we can officially expect from 'Jurassic Park 4,' other than that it's supposedly coming to theaters in 2014. But newly scrapped concept art for the fourth movie installment suggests it might be a whole lot different than we were probably expecting.
In these franchise-minded times, it's surprising that it's taken this long for Universal to finally get around to making a fourth 'Jurassic Park' film. The third film - which was released in 2001 - still made over $350 million worldwide. And 'Jurassic Park 4' seems to be coming along, according to producer Frank Marshall.
There are a lot of random properties that are being turned into possible movie franchises nowadays, but you don't want mess with 'Jurassic Park' unless you can get it right. Yes, we all know that both sequels are uneven, but maybe these two new writers will finally get us interested in the possibility of a 'Jurassic Park 4.'
