Like Steve Martin and Alex Baldwin before him, Jon Hamm doesn't need to be hosting 'Saturday Night Live' to pop up in an episode. Sometimes, it just seems like he was in the area, so he just stopped by to say hi and jumped into a sketch. Last night's episode opened with a return to the Lawrence Welk Show, where Hamm proved himself to be a very capable Italian song and dance man.

As previously mentioned, neither NBC nor 'Saturday Night Live' would formally confirm the departures of cast members Andy Samberg or Kristen Wiig, but last night's Mick Jagger-hosted episode, was all the confirmation you'll need.
In the last sketch of the night, a very loosely staged graduation piece with Mick Jagger playing himself as the principal of...OK it doesn't really make sense as a sketch. But as an emotional goodbye to 'SNL's MVP Kristen Wiig, it was brilliant.

Be thankful for the Kardashians if only for the fact that they provide ample material 'SNL's funny ladies, Kristen Wiig, Abby Elliot, Nasim Pedrad and Vanessa Bayer hysterical parodies. And now the reality TV stars have come face-to-face with their better, funnier half at last night's eventful E! Upfront.

The writing has been on the wall ever since ‘Bridesmaids’ became the breakout comedic hit of 2011 and earned Kristen Wiig an Oscar nomination. Rumors swirled that the uber-talented comedian would depart ‘Saturday Night Live’ after seven seasons and try her luck at a full-time, feature-film career. The buzz must have reached deafening levels, because Wiig took the time to address the hearsay on Alec Baldwin’s NPR show ‘Here’s the Thing.’

'Saturday Night Live' is an institution at this point, and will never leave as long as there's no real competition. But it does go through stages. It looks like this year will end another era, as it's being reported that Kristen Wiig, Andy Samberg and Jason Sudeikis will all leave at the end of the year.
