Welcome back to "'Girls' Talk," where we at ScreenCrush are joined by critics each week to discuss the latest episode of the HBO series. In this week's episode, Hannah is seduced by the free perks of her new job but finds that gainful employment has its downsides, as well. Meanwhile, Marnie and Ray continue to connect on a personal level, and Shoshanna attempts to put her life in order, while Jessa seems to be flourishing at her new job.
On tonight's new episode of 'Girls,' Hannah is enjoying the free perks of her new job a little too much, but quickly discovers that life with a steady paycheck also comes with its downsides. Meanwhile, Adam meanders through prospective employment opportunities of his own, while Ray and Marnie continue to connect on a personal level and Shoshanna realizes it may be time to settle down. Also: Jessa is really good at selling baby clothes.
On this week's edition of 'Girls' talk, we're joined by another critic to discuss the latest episode, in which a potential new professional opportunity for Hannah quickly takes a sharp turn for the worse, while tensions mount in the apartment between Adam and Caroline. Meanwhile, Marnie seeks some help (and then some) from Ray, and Jessa decides to get a new job (on a whim, of course).
'Girls' airs a night early this week thanks to the Super Bowl, but we're not complaining. In "Only Child," Hannah attends the funeral of David Pressler-Goings, leading to some potentially exciting professional news that quickly takes a sharp turn for the worse. With Hannah intensely narrowing her focus on herself and Adam and Caroline's fighting reaching a climax, it's not long before things start to implode. Meanwhile, Jessa contemplates a new job and Marnie adopts a kitten!
Welcome to another edition of 'Girls' Talk, in which we're joined by critics each week to discuss the latest episode of the HBO series. On "Dead Inside," Adam worries that a sudden tragedy isn't affecting Hannah the way it should, and his sister has an interesting approach to try and get Hannah to open up. Meanwhile, Jessa makes a shocking discovery about an old friend, and Marnie continues to try and get her life in order post-Charlie.
There's a moment in 'Happy Christmas' when Anna Kendrick, Melanie Lynskey and Lena Dunham have a few cocktails in a basement converted to a tiki bar, and that moment quietly strikes gold. The scene – three woman jawing about the balance of work and life – doesn't gear up to be some big emotional breakthrough. It just happens au naturale, unladen with political pamphleteering or, quite frankly, even looking for any solutions. It is a great microcosm of Joe Swanberg's newest film. Insight does occasionally spring from this movie in what looks like an effortless fashion, but the movie as a whole looks like hardly any effort went into it.
Tragedy strikes on tonight's new episode of 'Girls,' but when Hannah isn't as affected by it as Adam feels she should be, his sister Caroline spends the day with her to try and work it out. Meanwhile, Marnie gets herself into gear and tries to move forward (again), while Jessa makes a shocking discovery about a dead friend from her past.
We're joined by critics each week to discuss the latest episode of HBO's hit series 'Girls.' On this week's episode, Hannah celebrates her 25th birthday, while Marnie makes a cringe-worthy and unwitting YouTube debut. Meanwhile, Adam's sister stops in for a surprise (and very unwelcome) visit, hopefully giving us a peek into his vague past, and Ray tries to be friendly with Shoshanna.
On tonight's new episode of 'Girls,' Hannah's turning 25, and all her friends are gathered for a birthday party -- but a surprise visit from Adam's sister (guest star Gaby Hoffmann) throws a kink in the happy couple's plans and gives us more of an idea of where Adam comes from. Meanwhile, a YouTube video from Marnie's past is stressing her out, and Ray discovers he's not quite over his break-up with Shoshanna.
'Girls' returns with season 3, and these ladies still have a lot of growing up to do. HBO debuted two new episodes last night, in which we finally caught up with Jessa, who's off in rehab hardly trying to get it together. Meanwhile, Hannah and Adam host a dinner party and Marnie barely tries to get over Charlie. We discuss all this and more in this week's 'Girls' Talk!
