Just when you thought a huge leap forward for Homeland could be the biggest Showtime news of the day, in swoops the cable network with not one, but three future premieres. Not only will Shameless air two seasons in one year for the first time, but Masters of Sex and The Affair have their fall 2016 dates as well.

Magicians: they’re no longer just people who remind of you of the good choices you made in life when seen at children’s birthday parties. Magicians are now “cool” and “sexy” and “played by Lizzy Caplan.” She’s taking the place of Isla Fisher, who was presumably busy keeping a brave face as she watched her husband of six years crawl into an elephant’s vagina, as one of two new key acquisitions for the fledgling franchise. As the newly released trailer embedded above indicates, she’s one of three newcomers, along with Chinese singer Jay Chou and actual boy wizard Daniel Radcliffe, showing a little range by portraying a character who cannot do magic, but does somehow have access to every single computer in the world, which is slightly more implausible.

Seemingly brothers and sisters and arms, where Showtime’s Masters of Sex goes, Ray Donovan will follow. The sexual revolution drama and Liev Schrieber’s L.A. fixer will return arm-in-arm for 2016, as Showtime has officially renewed both dramas for a fourth season.

Just in time for the Fourth of July weekend, Showtime had a few extra explosions to spare for Masters of Sex and Ray Donovan Season 3. Before the official July 12 premiere, both summer series have released their full debut episodes online.

Showtime’s Masters of Sex will launch firmly into the sexual revolution with its upcoming Season 3 premiere, but don’t think a more relaxed mindset has done away with the drama’s punny sense of humor. A new poster teases some three-way Twister between the series leads, while a new trailer shows off the guest cast coming together for Season 3.

Crossing over into June has put us one small step closer to Showtime’s summer lineup of Masters of Sex and Ray Donovan returning for Season 3 on July 12, but the first official promo takes a giant leap for mankind.

The first sneak peek at Showtime’s Masters of Sex Season 3 has arrived, ushering in the sexual revolution, or, as Lizzy Caplan’s Virginia Johnson comments, “We are the sexual revolution.” The third season leaps forward from 1961 to 1965, as Masters and Johnson present their new book to a suspicious medical community — and one doctor in particular takes umbrage with their overly-technical jargon.

It’s kind of a strange thing to write about ‘The Interview’ now, right? Its place in culture will always be defined by the Sony hacks that preceded the movie’s release. Is any other film defined so sharply by events that were out of that movie’s control?
