Darren Aronofsky has been doing a bang-up job updating us on his upcoming project 'Noah' via his popular Twitter feed -- tweeting out that set pic of the Ark that went semi-viral and details on filming out of Iceland. This latest look, however, isn't coming from the 'Black Swan' director. Paramount Pictures recently released the first image of lead actor Russell Crowe all suited up for his title role as Noah.
Those of us following director Darren Aronofsky on Twitter – and if you aren’t, do so now – already know that the ‘Black Swan’ helmer has embraced social media and uses it daily to update interested parties on the development of his Biblical epic, ‘Noah.’ For example, he has alerted us that USA Today will have a “First Look” photo up soon. We’ll keep our eyes open for that. In the meantime, we have some fresh casting news for the movie, even though it has been filming for several days now.
After struggling for years making films that only played to a limited audience, Darren Aronofsky broke through to the mainstream with the release of 'Black Swan.' It gave him the power to get a big budget film made at Paramount, and that film is 'Noah.' It now has a release date of March 28, 2014.
After the Success of 'Black Swan' it's nice to see that Darren Aronofsky is allowed to make a big budget film of his own choosing - especially after the numerous compromises that went into his still-pretty-great film 'The Fountain'. Now we've got word that his next film has locked down its star and shooting date.
