The time has finally come for the 'RoboCop' remake to step into high gear and get started on production already. Though 'House' star Hugh Laurie dropped out of the villain role a while back, the film still has an all-star cast, which includes Michael Keaton, Michael K. Williams, Gary Oldman and Samuel L. Jackson, to name a few. Now, the project is taking the next steps as it goes into production at the end of the week, while simultaneously releases the official plot summary.

The 'RoboCop' remake has a pretty impressive cast. Led by 'The Killing' star Joel Kinnaman, the cast also includes Samuel L. Jackson, Gary Oldman, Jackie Earle Haley, Jay Baruchel and Abbie Cornish. But one thing it doesn't have is a villain.

So far, the ‘RoboCop’ reboot earned most if its headlines by surrounding lead actor Joel Kinnaman (‘The Killing) with an eye-popping ensemble. Gary Oldman, Samuel L. As wrong as it feels that they're remaking 'RoboCop' (and it does feel sooo wrong), it's impossible to look at the cast that director Jose Padilha is building not be pretty impressed. In addition to Joel Kinnaman putting on the cybernetic implants, the film will feature Gary Oldman, Hugh Laurie, Samuel L. Jackson and now Jackie Earle Haley, who just can't seem to stop himself from getting attached to geek properties.

Although we're still waiting to see what star Joel Kinnaman will look like as a cybernetically enhanced, corporation-controlled police officer, a new website for the fictional OmniCorp company popped up that gives fans a look at a character almost as iconic as the titular hero himself: ED-209.

Most of the latest casting for the upcoming remake 'Robocop' has focused on the new characters, from Gary Oldman's creator, to Samuel L. Jackson's entertainment tycoon. Though we don't expect it to be a scene-for-scene remake, we're curious how much of it will reflect the original. There are some elements, as it seems that Hugh Laurie will be playing the head of OCP.
