America could probably use a hug week after week, and Sarah Silverman might be just the person to do it. The revered comedian has partnered with Funny or Die to deliver a new weekly talk series for Hulu, if only to constantly reassure audiences that I Love You, America.

Recent months have see Netflix picking up comedy specials covering every name from Dave Chappelle to Jerry Seinfeld, and now the streaming service adds another major name to its roster. Sarah Silverman will film a new special for Netflix, with an eye to premiere in May of this year.

HBO’s most recent comedies haven’t proven the commercial breakthrough that Westworld was for drama, and it may take some big names for Judd Apatow and Pete Holmes’ Crashing to get there. The newest trailer bring out both Sarah Silverman and T.J. Miller, also namedropping everything from Chris Rock to The Wire.

Neither comedian Maria Bamford nor showrunner Mitch Hurwitz are too busy with Arrested Development these days, leaving the Netflix field wide open for Bamford to ignite new comedy series Lady Dynamite. If you watched Sarah Polley’s Take This Waltz, then Sarah Silverman’s dramatic turn in I Smile Back will hardly come as a surprise to you, but if you’re only familiar with her comedy work, then this trailer for the upcoming drama might knock your socks off a bit. One of the most pleasant surprises of the past week was learning about The Lonely Island’s upcoming comedy film, which the hilarious trio are co-producing with Judd Apatow. In addition, the movie now has an official title.

The latest episode of 'SNL' featured Sarah Silverman as the host and it looks like their raunchy guest encouraged the rest of the crew to crawl out on a few limbs. Would the writers have created a fake commercial celebrating the slowly dying power of white people if the world's most offensive female comedian wasn't on hand? Who knows!

'The Fault in Our Stars' was one of the big surprise hits of the summer, telling a heartbreaking love story between two young cancer patients. Despite that Very Serious Material, 'SNL' and guest host Sarah Silverman found a way to make fun of the movie and tie into current events. Thus was born the fake trailer for 'The Fault in Our Stars 2: The Ebola in Our Everything.'

The energy level from last week’s ‘SNL’ season premiere wasn’t quite there with Saturday night's Sarah Silverman hosted effort. It was almost like last week felt like “we’ve got a cast we’re proud off; let’s show it off!” and this week was almost a little more experimental. (I realize, most likely, none of this was intentional.) Silverman was good in the respect that it at least appeared she was certainly trying, but sometimes stumbled over some lines (hosting ‘SNL’ isn’t easy!) and she would go back and forth from looking, at times, confident – obviously she was comfortable doing her standup act in the monologue -- and, at other times, looking a little off ... which all seems really reasonable.
