It seemed early on as if HBO trailers would have a monopoly on the day, but TNT has a few reasons of their own to be excited. 'Falling Skies' season 4 officially set a June premiere, announcing the news in a new trailer from SXSW, while its network also set premieres for the Sean Bean-starring 'Legends' and post-apocalyptic drama 'The Last Ship' with trailers of their own.
'Macbeth' is one of William Shakespeare's greatest plays and one of the most inherently cinematic stories ever written. That's why it's been made into a movie multiple times before. That's why a version starring Michael Fassbender is currently in the works. But this is a first: Sean Bean is attached to lead an adaptation of the infamous "Scottish play" for actor-turned-director Vincent Regan ... but only if the project reaches its Kickstarter goal.
'Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters' is the second film in a franchise that arrived with a shrug back in 2010. Can it grab the audience that ignored the first film? Can it fill the void left by the insanely successful 'Harry Potter' franchise? We won't know until later this summer.
But hey, there's a new poster!
While we all remember what happened the last time Sean Bean headed up a 10-episode series on cable, something tells us TNT's 'Legends' has a bit more stability in mind. The cable network has officially greenlit for 2014 the new spy thriller series based on the Robert Littell spy novel of the same name, starring Bean, Ali Larter and 'True Blood's Tina Majorino, but will 'Legends' prove the next big hit for TNT? Preview the new spy thriller series inside!
Everyone's favorite cinematic murder victim Sean Bean may eventually star in a movie where he isn't killed off. At least, we hope so. The Wachowskis have cast him in 'Jupiter Ascending' as a Han Solo type, which hopefully means maybe the worst that happens is that he gets frozen in carbonite (fingers crossed).
The last time we checked, TNT wasn't in the habit of killing off its lead characters, so could the cable network have tied 'Game of Thrones' star and death-prone actor Sean Bean to his longest role yet? We'll find out, as the actor has signed on to head up TNT's upcoming Howard Gordon-produced drama 'Legends,' replacing actor Brendan Fraser in the lead role. Find out how Sean Bean is the stuff of 'Legends' inside!
Sean Bean may die in just about every movie he appears in, but that doesn't make him any less of badass. Although he's been a consummate supporting actor for well over a decade now, it looks like the success of 'Game of Thrones' may have put the leading man shine back on him. He's now attached to star in a post-apocalyptic thriller titled 'Scorched Earth.'
