J.J. Abrams gave his first extensive interview on 'Star Wars: Episode 7' to Playboy and spoke at length about the challenges of being in control of 'Star Wars' and 'Star Trek' - two of the biggest sci-fi franchises in history. He talks about how he'll be collaborating with George Lucas, his feeling on the prequels and how you shouldn't assume he won't direct 'Star Trek 3.'
Harrison Ford was a guest on last night's 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' to promote his movie '42' and naturally the discussion came around to 'Star Wars: Episode 7' and the future of the franchise. Ford tried to stay mum and say he couldn't talk about anything 'Star Wars,' but when he agreed to some questions from the audience, things got heated and Ford walked off the set. Watch video of the incident below.
Not too long after the new 'Star Wars: Episode 7'-led trilogy was announced by Disney and its acquisition of Lucasfilm, it was revealed that the studio was looking to kick things off in the summer of 2015. In case you were thinking that was just hearsay, it's now been confirmed by Disney -- and that's not all! How would you like to know when the other movies will likely hit?
This Thursday, stand up comedian (and one of the funniest men alive) Patton Oswalt guest stars on NBC's beloved 'Parks and Recreation' as a Pawnee, Indiana citizen who attempts to block a city council vote with a lengthy filibuster. Asked to talk at length about whatever he wanted by the producers, Oswalt decided to rant about 'Star Wars Episode 7' and the results are bizarre and glorious as he spins off into 'The Avengers' and 'X-Men' and much much more. Check it out below.
After all of the excitement that came with its announcement, things have gotten very quiet on the 'Star Wars Episode 7' front. However, pages from a mysterious 'Star Wars' project titled 'Star Wars: Reclamation' have appeared online, suggesting that Disney may have more in the works than we know about.
It's important to note that most, if not all 'Star Wars: Episode 7' talk at this point is unofficial chatter -- Harrison Ford seems to "think" he'll be coming back, everyone seems to "think" the new trilogy will focus on the children of Luke Skywalker, and Han Solo and Princess Leia, etc. That said, the latest 'Star Wars' alum seemingly throwing his name into the pool is our second favorite droid C-3PO. (Obviously R2-D2 is our favorite).
As you most likely already know, reports of Harrison Ford's involvement in the upcoming J.J. Abrams-directed 'Star Wars: Episode 7' came out a while back followed by a statement from George Lucas saying that him, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill were all in negotiations. Plus even Ford himself said he "thinks" it's a sure thing -- but that's apparently all he has to say on the matter and he won't discuss it further. Seriously.
It seems impossible that 'Star Wars Episode 7' is still two years (at least) away. It feels like we've been talking about it forever! Then again, if we feel exhausted by it, imagine how director JJ Abrams must feel...and he hasn't even begun shooting yet. Although he's not allowed to say anything solid yet (and he's JJ freakin' Abrams, so he wouldn't say anything even if he could), the 'Star Trek Into Darkness' director recently discussed the project, talking about what it means to be attached to what's undoubtedly going to be one of the biggest movies of all time.
'Star Wars Episode 7' has incited all kinds of reactions across Hollywood. For every actor or filmmaker who expresses excitement in the project, you'll find another who won't touch it with a ten foot pole. However, just because someone wants to be in the new 'Star Wars' doesn't necessarily mean that they'll mesh with that universe. So, how do we react when Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson says that he'd love to journey to that long ago, far away galaxy?
Comic-Con 2013 is approaching quicker than you think, and with every year comes a batch of geeky properties ready to present footage to a crowded hall of adoring fans. Last year gave us peeks at 'Iron Man 3,' 'Pacific Rim,'
