In 1980, visionary director Stanley Kubrick released 'The Shining,' a psychological horror film based on the novel of the same name by Stephen King. 'The Shining' follows writer Jack Torrance as he takes his family up to an isolated hotel to work on completing his novel. While there, his son discovers he has psychic powers, and Jack himself begins a descent into murderous madness. It's been 33 years since the film first terrified audiences, so join us as we revisit the cast of the film and see what they're up to now.

Released in 1990 and based on the Stephen King novel of the same name, 'It' was a special three-part TV miniseries event. The story follows a group of outcast kids and self-proclaimed losers who fight an evil demon posing as a child-killing clown. Thirty years later, the evil demon clown has returned to seek vengeance, bringing these former friends back together again under unfortunate circumstances. Twenty-three years after the series' initial debut, we take a look back at this awesome ensemble cast and see what they're up to now.

'The Stand' Replacing Ben Affleck With 'Crazy Heart' Director

Since we all know Ben Affleck is a little too busy with his upcoming film 'Live By Night' and, of course, playing Batman, the new adaptation of Stephen King's classic horror-fantasy novel 'The Stand' has been in need of a director. After Affleck left the film behind a while ago, the project may have finally found a replacement: Scott Cooper, the helmer behind 'Crazy Heart.'

Well, this should come as no major surprise, considering the debut ratings alone, but it seems 'Under the Dome' has officially booked a lengthy stay in the fictional Chester's Mill. CBS has officially announced that the Stephen King-adapted series will return for a second season of 13 episodes in summer 2014, but will anything about the overall story change now that 'Under the Dome' has escaped the "limited series" bubble?

Among the multiple ongoing developments from the Television Critics Association press tour, NBC has reaffirmed their commitment to doing more limited series, announcing several new projects. Not only will the network look to reboot horror classic 'Rosemary's Baby,' but also a new adaptation of Stephen King's 'The Tommyknockers,' a Hilary Clinton miniseries starring Diane Lane, and a 'Plymouth' story on par with History's 'The Bible.'

The moment CBS announced it would take Stephen King's 2009 thriller 'Under the Dome' to series, certain fans rallied behind a cry of "Simpsons did it" given that the 2007 feature-length adaptation of America's favorite animated family featured a similarly domed premise. Both domes proved mere coincidence, with a 2010 'Simpsons' episode even addressing the similarity, but how will CBS' upcoming summer series pay homage to 'The Simpsons' in turn?
