"What kind of man would choose to spend his life in prison?"
It’s the most obvious question in Mikael Hafstrom’s 'Escape Plan,' and while it’s asked early on in the startling convoluted action film, it’s never quite answered, probably because the answer is actually, "well, otherwise we wouldn’t have a movie here."

Since Robert De Niro has been spoofing his mafia roles and tough guy image for more than a decade now, it shouldn't be surprising he's goofing on another of his signature roles (this time Jake La Motta) for a new comedy. In 'Grudge Match' he plays an over-the-hill boxer who returns to the ring to fight one of his toughest opponents, with Sylvester Stallone (playing on his Rocky Balboa character) as his rival.

You know these guys -- chances are, you grew up watching them kick ass in some of the greatest action films of the '80s. Taken aback as we were to learn that a potential 'Rambo' TV series had begun the development phase, with Sylvester Stallone in negotiations to be involved creatively and potentially reprise the role, it now seems an understandable caveat has been put in place. Stallone himself will not re-don the headband as John Rambo, should the series make it through development, but what direction might the new adaptation take?

Remember when Sylvester Stallone announced the 'Rocky' franchise would return, with Michael B. Jordan in the leading role of 'Creed,' and it didn't sound entirely crazy? Meet the antithesis of that, as Stallone's other aging icon 'Rambo' may soon come to TV in a new series with Stallone reprising the role! Oy, this day so far.

'The Expendables 3' began filming in Bulgaria today, and Lionsgate marked the occasion by sending out a press release that not only confirms most of the crazy ensemble cast but teases a plot that sounds just nutty enough to earn back our attention after the mediocre second film. If you aren't on board the 'Expendables' bandwagon (and we totally wouldn't blame you if you're not), just know that Mel Gibson is playing a character named Conrad Stonebanks. Conrad Stonebanks.

Even at 71, Harrison Ford is still game to play action heroes -- earlier today we learned that Ford is game for another 'Indiana Jones' film, and while that might not happen, there's another action franchise that's willing to take him in. It seems Ford has joined the cast of 'The Expendables 3,' if Sylvester Stallone is to be believed.
