We're a little less than a month away from 'The Bourne Legacy' so we're starting to see more and more advertising for it. And as is obvious from the title, we're hearing a lot about that Jason Bourne guy. But from this TV spot, it's evident that Jeremy Renner's character is supposedly the better version.
The Bourne Legacy
'Comic-Con 2012' is upon us and Screencrush is in full-force down in San Diego, ready to bring you the latest and greatest from the world's craziest comic book convention. While the show doesn't officially start until tomorrow, there's still plenty of cool stuff leaking out, like this brand new poster made for 'The Bourne Legacy.'
While 'The Avengers' and 'The Amazing Spider-Man' offered all kinds of superpowered throw-downs, fans of more traditional ass-kicking have plenty to look forward to in 2012. Between 'The Bourne Legacy' and 'Taken 2,' action buffs will surely find enough shattered skulls and crushed throats to meet their yearly quota. If glowering, stone-faced heroes obliterating random mercenaries is your kind of thing, you should probably give the new trailers and TV spots for both films a quick watch.
Superhero movies like ‘The Avengers’ aren’t the only genres permitted to mash characters together for the benefit of a heart-pumping action story. Spy thrillers apparently are able to venture down that path, as well. And so if audiences embrace Jeremy Renner as the lead agent in this summer’s ‘The Bourne Legacy,’ the creative team already has gone on record to say they'd like to see him team with a special guest star in the follow-up: Matt Damon.
Universal Pictures doesn't just have the 'Fast & Furious' franchise to rely on to bring in big bucks. It also has the Bourne franchise, which so far has raked in over $944 million dollars worldwide, with a fourth entry set for release on August 3rd. At least, it used to be August 3rd...
Matt Damon who?
Universal wanted to continue the 'Bourne' franchise but the only problem was that Damon and director Paul Greengrass weren't all that interested. So they went ahead without him and brought in Oscar-nominee Jeremy Renner to take over as a new Bourne. Who isn't a Bourne. Or is he? I'm already confused.
