Thor 2: The Dark World
Failure is not an option for Thor and his brother Loki in the latest international TV spot for 'Thor 2.' As the army of Dark Elves descends upon Asgard and London, these two must team up and prevent the universe from falling into chaos, but not before the god of thunder dishes out some hammer of justice.
Although his brother's name is the one on the poster and in the opening titles, Loki (and by extension, actor Tom Hiddleston) has one of the hearts of the fans. The scheming Norse god and Marvel supervillain menaced Asgard in 'Thor,' brought an alien invasion to Earth in 'The Avengers' and will soon return to the big screen in 'Thor: The Dark World.' Calm down, Tumblr. We can hear you breathing from here.
With Loki fever in the air, how about a Rule 63 take on the beloved bad guy?
The latest 'Thor 2' posters have prominently featured the god of thunder himself (Chris Hemsworth), Loki (Tom Hiddleston), Odin (Anthony Hopkins) and even the villain Malekith (Christopher Eccleston), but now it's time for the ladies to claim the spotlight. Marvel has released a pair of new one-sheets, featuring two of the most important women in Thor's life: the apple of his eye, Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), and his best gal pal, Sif (Jaimie Alexander).
We know that Marvel Studios has longterm plans for the future, with various "phases" set until near the end of the decade. However, we haven't heard of any concrete plans for a movie starring a female superhero -- at least not yet. But according to 'Thor: The Dark World' star Natalie Portman, we may be closer to a female-driven Marvel movie than we think.
Though Joss Whedon is busy working on the script for 'The Avengers: Age of Ultron' and has admittedly been conceptualizing his sequel for some time, he still answered the call when 'Thor: The Dark World' director Alan Taylor was in trouble. According to Taylor, Whedon came in to save some major issues he was having with the film.
Chris Hemsworth is a busy man. In addition to being the Marvel movie universe's Thor, the Australian actor has been promoting the upcoming Ron Howard drama 'Rush,' which sees him stepping into the role of Formula One racer James Hunt. However, no interview with Mr. Hemsworth could be complete without asking him about 'The Avengers: Age of Ultron,' but the God of Thunder himself can't spill any details. After all, he doesn't even have any details to spill. He doesn't even know who Ultron is!
