You all remember Tom Hardy when he broke the Bat as Bane in Christopher Nolan's finale to 'The Dark Knight' trilogy. Well, in case you weren't impressed with that transformation, here's one that is sure to raise a few eyebrows: Hardy has been announced to star as Elton John himself in the upcoming biopic 'Rocketman'!

Although remaking John Carpenter's 'Escape From New York' is the kind of thing that makes us quietly shake our heads and contemplate developing a drinking problem, we'll be the first to admit that sliding an actor like Jason Statham or Tom Hardy into the lead role will go a long way toward alleviating the pain.

'The Dark Knight Rises' hits DVD and Blu-ray on December 4th (just in time for the holidays!) and a few early copies have leaked in advance of the official release. One of the behind-the-scenes documentaries included on the discs shows off some behind-the-scenes photos of Tom Hardy as Bane plus some concept art on what Bane almost looked like.

Now this is an interesting looking project. Start with a novel by Dennis Lehane, whose work has inspired 'Shutter Island,' 'Mystic River' and 'Gone Baby Gone.' Put Michael Roskam, the Oscar-nominated director of the incredible 'Bullhead,' in the director's seat. Finally, headline it with Tom Hardy, easily one of the most interesting and talented actors working today. Yep, that's all you need to get us interested in 'Animal Rescue.'

'Tarzan' is about to swing into a theater near you with a big-budget new reboot at Warner Bros. David Yates, who directed the last four 'Harry Potter' films, has committed to direct an adaptation of 'Tarzan of the Apes' after years of development at the studio. And who does the studio want to star as their jungle king? Why, their favorite 'Dark Knight Rises' villain, of course.
