Now this is an interesting looking project. Start with a novel by Dennis Lehane, whose work has inspired 'Shutter Island,' 'Mystic River' and 'Gone Baby Gone.' Put Michael Roskam, the Oscar-nominated director of the incredible 'Bullhead,' in the director's seat. Between his masked anarchist Bane in 'The Dark Knight Rises' and his authority-resistant bag of muscles, Forrest Bondurant, in John Hilcoat's 'Lawless,' Hardy has delivered two pugnacious, guttural turns that ought to keep the impressions coming for years.

In Christopher Nolan's 'The Dark Knight Rises' Batman/Bruce Wayne faces his most dangerous and enigmatic foe yet: the muscular, masked Bane (Tom Hardy). There were a lot of questions left unanswered about his character, and it appears those answers were left on the cutting room floor.
Well, except for an answer to "what the hell does his voice sound like?" which is a question that's been eating away at our collective pop culture consciousness for weeks now.
