Vin Diesel

Not many actors can say they’ve played really convincing robots and trees, but Vin Diesel can. He was the voice of the title character in ‘The Iron Giant’ and the voice of Groot in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy.’ The actor, producer, and white T-shirt enthusiast, has been the anchor of the beloved ‘Fast & Furious’ franchise for over a decade; he plays Dominic Toretto, drag-racer extraordinaire and the leader of a gang of world-class thieves. ‘Furious 7’ comes out later this year. Diesel also starred in ‘xXx’ and the Riddick franchise, about a space criminal with artificial eyes.

Vin Diesel Says Groot Will Fight Hulk in the MCU, Somehow
The word of comics and the world of professional wrestling have one big thing in common: nothing is better than seeing two of your favorite characters duke it out in a highly anticipated battle royale. The MCU is no different: it’s exciting to think about our favorites finally getting the chance to team up, but what if they fight each other instead? Batman v. Superman was a little anticlimactic in that regard, but Captain America: Civil War really made it difficult to choose sides when half of the Avengers turned against the other half. Vin Diesel seems to think another battle between two very large team members might happen onscreen: Groot vs. Hulk.

The ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ Trailer Is Here!
We’ve done our waiting, and now it’s finally here — feast your eyes on the first official Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 trailer! All of our favorites are back, plus a few new faces and one very big tentacle monster. This trailer keeps the rock music vibe of the first movie alive with their choice of Sweet’s “Fox on the Run,” and it looks just as fun, if not even more fun, than its predecessor.

Dwayne Johnson is a big man in every sense of the word. Physically, he’s a small planet, giving the moon a run for its money as the most important celestial body to be caught in Earth’s orbit. His personality and spirit, though, are even bigger. You rarely if ever hear stories about Johnson losing his cool or brushing off a fan, choosing instead to spend every waking minute of every waking day reminding us that movie stars do still exist in 2016.

James Gunn Doubts Vin Diesel Joining 'Inhumans' TV Series
We still have plenty of unanswered questions with Marvel’s decision to move forward on an Inhumans TV series, especially if a movie is somehow still in the cards. On that note, one wonders about Vin Diesel’s many teasing references to playing lead Inhuman Black Bolt, something Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn certainly doubts to be the case now.

Ang Lee is am ambitious filmmaker, but ambition doesn’t always pay off. With Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon he fused emotional relationships with the dazzle of wuxia action, and in Life of Pi he told a story about spirituality and survival through an innovative use of CG and motion-capture performance. In Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk Lee is once again pushing the boundaries of filmmaking shooting the film in 120 frames per second (five times the normal rate of your average movie). What results is a stunning and unique viewing experience, but ultimately a failed experiment.

“Kick some a--. Get the girl. And try to look dope while you’re doing it.” Seems simple enough, right? Especially when you’re an extreme-athlete-turned-secret-government-operative like Xander Cage is, for example. Vin Diesel is back in action in xXx: Return of Xander Cage, and the newest trailer has stunts that may be even more ridiculous than the ocean-motorcycling that was in the first teaser. They certainly look dope, that’s for sure.

Well, in case you forgot it was happening, Paramount released a dozen new character posters for xXx: Return of Xander Cage’s ridiculously large cast.

Vin Diesel Is at It Again With the ‘Fast 8’ Oscar Thing
Back when he was doing press rounds for 2015’s Furious 7, Vin Diesel made some pretty bold statements about the movie deserving to be nominated for an Academy Award (and let’s be real, the only thing more emotional last year than the final minutes of Furious 7 was, maybe, Carol). It, of course, wasn’t, which should come as no surprise, even though it was a critical and box office success, but that hasn’t stopped our buddy Vin, who is now saying that the next film in the franchise, Fast 8, should be Oscar-worthy.

Well that was quick! Not long after debuting the first official teaser poster, James Gunn has revealed the first honest-to-goodness teaser for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 — and if you were digging that poster, you’re going to love this teaser, which features the delightfully familiar sound of “ooga chaka, ooga chaka, ooga ooga chaka.” Everyone sing along!

Vin Diesel Will Say ‘I Am Groot’ in Sixteen Languages
For those of us who were even more enamored than we thought we’d be by a talking raccoon and a slightly-less-wordy walking tree, Guardians of the Galaxy was an absolute delight. Luckily, all of our favorites are returning for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and we’ll get to see our favorite Vin Diesel-voiced sapling once again, now quite a bit diminished in size from his last appearance. For the first film, Diesel learned how to say his character’s recurring line “I am Groot” in six different languages, and now he says the director of the sequel is making him learn almost three times that many.
