Racking up a plethora of nominations and wins this awards season is the quirky, clever 'Moonrise Kingdom' screenplay. Penned by director Wes Anderson along with Roman Coppola, the script recently nabbed an Oscar nod, sadly its only nomination.
If you enjoyed Anderson and Coppola's peculiar brand of humor and whimsy as we did (you can see its prime placement on our Top 20 Movies of 2012), you'll be happy to flip through the script itself, which has just appeared online. Only this isn't just any stuffy old screenplay - this one is interactive!
Wes Anderson is no slouch when it comes to building impressive ensembles, as proven in films like 'The Royal Tenenbaums', 'The Life Aquatic' and his latest, the sublime 'Moonrise Kingdom'. Obviously not ready to limit the names in his stock company, Anderson's next film, 'Grand Budapest Hotel', is assembling perhaps the director's most wonderful cast yet.
We already know that among the talents in 'Grand Budapest' are Jude Law, Bill Murray, Ralph Fiennes, Jeff Goldblum, Edward Norton, Willem Dafoe, Adrien Brody, Saoirse Ronan and, of course, Jason Swartzman (whew!), but today another handful of names has emerged. Check them out after the break!
Outside of the occasional television commercial, Jeff Goldblum sightings are rare these days. It's a shame, really -- the world would be a significantly improved place if there was more Goldblum, all the time. However, there's some good news brewing on the Goldblum Front today: it looks like he's officially joined the already bursting-at-the-seams cast of 'The Grand Budapest Hotel.'
Way to go, internet! You jumped the gun on this one!
In all fairness, we were among the many sites that reported Johnny Deppbeing cast in Wes Anderson's upcoming 'The Grand Budapest Hotel,' but it turns out that was far from confirmed. Mr. Anderson himself has cleared it all up for us: his film will have a great cast, but it will not include Depp.
Peanut butter and jelly. Jack and Coke. Bill Murray and Wes Anderson. Some things are just meant to go together. Murray and Anderson have collaborated on six quirky films together (including the animated 'Fantastic Mr. Fox') and it would appear as though a seventh is in the offing. Wes Anderson won't be making 'The Grand Budapest Hotel' without his good luck charm, and apparently not without 'Murder She Wrote' legend Angela Lansbury!
Wes Anderson's next film, 'The Grand Budapest Hotel,' is already amassing quite the cast, which is no surprise when it comes to the director's work. And now another name can be added to the list: Jude Law, who confirms that he is indeed starring in the film, and admits he "pestered" Anderson for a part in one of his movies for years.
Wes Anderson's latest film, 'Moonrise Kingdom,' hasn't even left theaters yet, but the director is already at work on his next flick, 'The Grand Budapest Hotel.' And the first actor to check in is Johnny Depp.
Wes Anderson's 'Moonrise Kingdom' is still in theaters, but the director is already back to work on his latest movie, an untitled European film project, and he's eyeing some pretty spectacular names to join the cast.
