White House Down

A prospective Secret Service agent must save and protect the President and his daughter when terrorists attack the White House.

The President of the United States must have a very safe car. More "death proof" than Kurt Russell's car in 'Death Proof' it seems, as the makers of 'White House Down' found out while working on the movie. This new featurette gives a spotlight to the president's car (nicknamed "The Beast") and what it goes through in the movie.

One of summer's biggest movie question marks is 'White House Down,' which pairs Channing Tatum's would-be secret service agent with Jamie Foxx's President of the United States in a buddy cop-esque action film. Now there's a new featurette that shows a little more footage from the film, and spotlights the director.

With 'Olympus Has Fallen' about to cross the $100 million mark at the box office, you'd think we'd be done with White House siege movies for a little while...but then the trailer for 'White House Down' had to rear its head and get us excited all over again. Now, a new poster has arrived it all-but-promises that this will be the buddy cop action movie of the year.

Although the first ‘White House Down’ trailer hit tonight, we already got a look at the footage … well, us and two small movie theater-filled audiences. Director Roland Emmerich brought along Jamie Foxx to the Union Square AMC theater in NYC for the big reveal of the trailer, while Channing Tatum was doing the same with a London-based audience (shown via telecast)...

'White House Down' may look a little familiar -- it is the second "'Die Hard' in the White House" movie of 2013 -- but it's also the bigger budget summer blockbuster version. Channing Tatum and Jamie Foxx star in this Roland Emmerich summer extravaganza, and they waited until just after 'Olympus has Fallen' was released to debut their trailer.

For his next disaster flick, Roland Emmerich wants to destroy the White House in 'White House Down,' and these new posters tease a seemingly perfect day in Washington, D.C. just before Emmerich blows everything up.

There obviously must be something about Roland Emmerich's 'White House Down' that Sony Pictures loves so much, or else they wouldn't have shifted it's release date like they did today. Hey, there's nothing wrong with being confident enough to go against some of the bigger movies of the year.

Maggie Gyllenhaal, despite all of the successful movies she's been in and the long career she's had, always seems to be a surprise announcement when she's cast in movies. Not because she shouldn't be in them, but because she doesn't seem to be in enough of them. Now her fans have one more reason to go to the theater with this recent casting announcement.
