Last week, 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' promised fans of the superhero franchise an epic new look at director Bryan Singer's latest installment through Empire magazine. The day has finally arrived as the publication releases 25 magazine covers bedecked with new images from the massive mutant team-up.

Although the biggest hook for 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' is how the film will combine both the original X-Men team and the cast of 'X-Men: First Class,' it will have no shortage of new mutant heroes and villains. The most intriguing of them (for reasons beyond the movie's story itself) is Quicksilver, the Marvel Universe's answer to the Flash. A new still from the film gives us our first look at actor Evan Peters in the role.

But this could quickly change as Bryan Singer is hard at work on the script, and he's recruited the writers from 'X2' to hammer down the story.

20th Century Fox and director Bryan Singer are still keeping details on 'X-Men: Apocalypse,' the recently announced sequel to 'Days of Future Past,' under wraps, but potential details have been leaking out. The biggest question on many fans' minds is, how will the sequel build off of 'Days of Future Past'? As of now, it looks like that will happen via the post-credits scene, which has been revealed in its entirety.

'X-Men: Days of Future Past' director Bryan Singer recently announced that the sequel to his ultimate mutant team-up will be 'X-Men: Apocalypse,' coming on May 27, 2016. While no other information was revealed at the time, it is presumed to take its name from one of the most powerful beings in the X-Men universe and perhaps even one of his most famous comic-book arcs, 'Age of Apocalypse.'
But who is this end-of-times mutant? For those unfamiliar, here's a brief intro to this classic comic-book villain.

Director Bryan Singer announced Thursday that the next film to follow 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' will bear the name of 'X-Men: Apocalypse' and hit on May 27, 2016. With no other information to go on, the film is merely presumed to take its name from the Apocalypse character in the comics and perhaps even the storyline 'Age of Apocalypse.' However, more details have shed some light on this title that through the Internet into a frenzy.
