‘Walking Dead’ Bosses Deny Curbing Violence After S7 Premiere

The Walking Dead has always pushed the boundaries of gore and violence, though Season 7 understandably reached a certain plateau with its batty premiere. Some producers even suggested that fan reaction inspired them to tone down Season 7’s bloodlust, though showrunners now say otherwise.

Yesterday we caught what looked to be a Walking Dead deviation for Rick and co., as the group met a junkyard gang on their way to “Rise Up” against Negan. Now, new photos from the 2017 premiere and beyond see the Saviors making an unwelcome return to Alexandria, while producers promise “one of the most ingenious walkers is coming up in the second half.”

The Walking Dead has plenty of ground to cover when Season 7 picks up again in February, so is there time to introduce another community? Yes, the Chicken Man may at last have been confirmed to return, as suggested by a round of new teasers from the Breaking Bad prequel’s third season.

Kirsten Dunst made a literal and figurative killing with her work on FX’s Fargo, and TV appears to have rubbed off on her. Dunst has teamed with George Clooney’s production company to star in and produce a new dark comedy for AMC, given the unusual title of On Becoming a God In Central Florida.

We all got to bask in Rick’s reunion with Daryl and Maggie at the close of Walking Dead mid-Season 7 finale “Hearts Still Beating,” but there’s still the difficult task of actually inspiring hope to “Rise Up” against Negan. Rick isn’t off to a great start in our first photo from the 2017 premiere, as long as you-know-who remains in charge of the Hilltop.

We haven’t checked in on Slippin’ Jimmy since April of 2016, and if our first Better Call Saul Season 3 footage is any indication, things don’t seem to be going the criminal lawyer’s way. Our first tease of new footage sees James McGill in a pickle, also promising a spring 2017 premiere.
