An unfortunate announcement for those familiar with Rose Siggins and American Horror Story: Freak Show, as the notable actor behind one of FX’s most memorable AHS characters has passed away. The real-life amputee and mother of two was remembered as a proud participant in the Ryan Murphy production as “Legless Suzi,” also documented in Ripley’s Believe It or Not and Extraordinary People.

Five seasons in, American Horror Story: Hotel has become something of a nexus point for the series, dipping back through multiple seasons and seemingly unifying some core characters. Now, it seems one of the Hotel residents will return for the finale as their Season 1 Murder House counterpart, and might raise a few eyebrows along the way.

The fun of American Horror Story (if there’s any left to be had) lies in charting the actors that resurface from year to year, some taking central roles in each installment, and others weaving intermittently. Coven and Freak Show star Emma Roberts apparently missed out on her chance for Hotel, but will likely return for another round in Season 6, it seems.

Last November, Ryan Murphy revealed that every season of his American Horror Story anthology series was connected. So far the show has made minor call backs to previous seasons and reprised characters. But there have to be more clues that connect all five seasons in a bigger way, right? Right.

‘American Horror Story: Hotel’ Reveals the Monster in ‘Room 33’ and Connects the Dots to ‘Murder House’

FX
Tonight’s episode of American Horror Story: Hotel finally takes us back to the ol’ Murder House, but unfortunately our trip there is all too brief, as we have more pressing matters back at the Hotel Cortez. Specifically, with what — or who — is residing in “Room 33,” and it’s…well, it’s really not that big of a deal. It’s just kind of okay.

‘American Horror Story’ Renewed for Season 6, But No Lady Gaga?

FX
Ever one for subtlety, American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy more or less guaranteed us a sixth season by extending an invitation to Lady Gaga, not that the FX ratings smash cast any doubt over renewal. Now, American Horror Story has made official another round beyond Hotel, but has Gaga signed the dotted line?

‘American Horror Story: Hotel’ Throws a Dead Man’s Party in a Weirdly Fun Halloween Episode

EDIT

American Horror Story’s Halloween episodes tend to be events that blend past and present in effective ways that are often shocking, revolting, spooky and — occasionally — surprisingly sorrowful. The last couple of seasons have fallen into an unfortunate rhythm: energetic, totally wild premieres followed by mediocre, tedious episodes that feel more trash than trashy treasure. But the Halloween episodes have remained a high point, and Hotel’s own holiday special offers a fun feast with its smorgasbord of serial killers.

Lily Rabe on the Most ‘Terrifying’ Part of Playing Aileen Wuornos In ‘American Horror Story: Hotel’

Leave it to Ryan Murphy to gather all of America’a most infamous serial killers in one room, days before Halloween. In Wednesday’s American Horror Story: Hotel, the first of the series’ traditional two-part Halloween episode, “Devil’s Night,” (spoiler alert) we saw Jeffrey Dahmer (Seth Gabel), John Wayne Gacy (John Carroll Lynch), Richard Ramirez (Anthony Ruivivar) and the H.H. Holmes-inspired Mr. March (Evan Peters) sit down to dinner with Detective John Lowe (Wes Bentley). But the real guest of honor, and most terrifying part of the episode, was Lily Rabe‘s Aileen Wuornos.

Here’s How Lady Gaga in ‘AHS: Hotel’ May Connect To ‘Murder House’

We know all the seasons of American Horror Story are connected and that Hotel will definitely connect with Murder House. Christine Estabrook’s realtor Marcy, from the first season, has already showed up, and there’s a strong theory that Hotel will bring back Elisabeth Short, aka the Black Dahlia, before she was brutally murdered in Season 1. But those aren’t the only connections to Murder House. Based on new evidence and clues, the biggest connection of all may come from Lady Gaga’s Countess, who also may explain one of the series’ scariest monsters.

Evan Peters Wants ‘American Horror Story: Space,’ We’re Inclined to Agree

Now situated at the cavernously bonkers Hotel Cortez, American Horror Story may one day run out of spooky locations with which to set its assured future. Series star Evan Peters however, following his “Chutes and Ladders” debut last night, puts in another vote to take Ryan Murphy’s horror vision to the terrors of outer space, and we’re inclined to agree.
