We've seen some odd product placement/endorsement deals in our time, but this one just might take the cake. With a slogan that reads, "Give your little Anchorman the support he needs," 'Anchorman 2' and Jockey have teamed up for a series of Ron Burgundy-inspired tighty-whiteys. Except they're not white and come in colors like "Sex Panther Red" and "Beard of Zeus Blue."
Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues
What would make seeing Ron Burgundy reunite with his Channel 4 news team on the big screen in 'Anchorman 2' even better? Seeing it before everyone else, obviously!
Paramount is copying, well, themselves by offering up an 'Anchorman 2' superticket, which will allow its purchasers to see the kind-of-a-big-deal sequel two days before it hits theaters wide on December 20. But it'll cost yah.
Since normal people tend to work quotes from 'Anchorman' into our everyday lives and attempt Ron Burgundy impressions on a daily basis, it shouldn't come as a surprise that a local news anchor would be well versed in the dialogue and mannerisms of Will Ferrell's iconic character. With 'Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues' right around the corner, he's revealed a far more ambitious (and insane) plan.
UPDATE: Now with a bonus, international trailer below, with tons of new footage!
Why would a man have a bag of bowling balls and a scorpion terrarium in his car? Well, that's Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell) for you. And if the first full trailer for 'Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues' didn't hit as many high notes as one might hope, this latest trailer delivers and then some.
Though ‘Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues‘ isn't due in theaters until the end of the year, in anticipation of the sequel to one of the most quotable films ever made, Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream have created a flavor in tribute to Will Ferrell's character Ron Burgundy. That flavor? Scotchy Scotch Scotch.
In an inspired bit of cross-promotion, Will Ferrell has gotten into character as Ron Burgundy to sell the new 2014 Dodge Durango. With his trademark absurd wit and charm, Burgundy promotes both the upcoming 'Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues' and the shiny new Dodge vehicle in a series of commercials that make us wish that Ron Burgundy would star in every TV ad.
Summer is over and, as Ned Stark would say, winter is coming. But, there's no reason to despair: the best stretch of the year for movies is right around the corner. The summer may offer the year's biggest films, but the fall tends to offer the best
