Right now, at this very moment, there are people in Austin, Texas who have seen Edgar Wright’s new film Baby Driver. And yes, I’ll admit it, I’m insanely jealous. It’s not just that Baby Driver is the first film by Wright since 2013’s The World’s End; it’s also not that Wright has assembled one of the more effortlessly cool heist film casts in Jon Bernthal, Jon Hamm, Lily James, and Kevin Spacey; it’s also that the first trailer for Baby Driver seems to show Wright pushing his own stylish sense of rhythmic editing to the max, going all in on his visuals in a way we still haven’t seen in one of his movies. You thought you liked Wright before? Try him with a couple of machine guns a few really fast cars.

Because it’s Christmas, and on Christmas (well, almost Christmas) you share the first photos from a new Edgar Wright film — that was the real message of Love Actually, I think. Anyway, the holiday weekend is upon us, and what better way to get in the joyful spirit than with a first look at Baby Driver, the highly-anticipated new action-comedy from Wright, featuring Ansel Elgort, Lily James, Jamie Foxx and Jon Friggin’ Hamm. Who doesn’t love a little Hamm on Christmas?

The photos reveal a cool shooting location in Atlanta, as well as potential soundtrack selections and the film’s production logo.

With Star Wars: The Force Awakens just about two weeks ago, it may seem strange to now look ahead to a Star Wars film that isn’t coming out until May, 2018, but when that film is Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s Han Solo spinoff, you’ll forgive us for jumping out ahead. Though filming on the Han Solo project isn’t expected to begin for over a year, Lord and Miller have already started auditioning a slew of young Hollywood actors for the project and some of the names may surprise you.

Many fans (including us) were very disappointed when Edgar Wright dropped out of Marvel’s Ant-Man. But, the silver lining is that Wright was suddenly available to write and direct a new, original film. That new film is Baby Driver, the upcoming musical-action film starring Ansel Elgort and Lily James. Michael Douglas was at one point also attached to the film, but has now been replaced Jamie Foxx, who is in talks to join the upcoming project.

It’s been a couple of years since we were delighted by The World’s End, but we’re finally getting another new movie from Edgar Wright: the curiously titled Baby Driver, with Divergent star Ansel Elgort in the leading role. Joining Elgort in the film is Lily James, star of this year’s surprisingly wonderful and enchanting live-action Cinderella.

Summit has released a new TV spot for ‘Insurgent,’ and due to its brief runtime, this thing really crams in as much action, money shots, and suspense as possible. Shailene Woodley’s Tris is back, still fighting the good fight in her dystopian future society along with pals Ansel Elgort, Theo James, and Miles Teller. We’ve also got a new gallery of photos from the film, featuring some glamour shots of characters both old and new.

There’s plenty of movement on the ‘Divergent’ franchise front today: we have the first official image from the upcoming sequel, ‘Insurgent,’ featuring Shailene Woodley and her co-stars running away from … something. It could be the evil government, or it could be a dinosaur. Maybe ‘Insurgent’ is doing some cross-promotion with ‘Jurassic World.’ We just don’t know. Additionally, ‘Insurgent’ director Robert Schwentke has signed on to helm the next film in the series. Big day for the ‘—ent’ series.
