The CW has had itself a banner year between superheroes and Golden Globes, but there’s always a new class on the horizon. To wit, some of the network’s newest pilot offerings include CW-ized Archie drama Riverdale, a Frequency reboot, and more.
Mileage may vary, but in spite of some out-there crossovers, twists and modern updates, Archie comics will always represent a certain goofy teen dynamic. That is, until the gang gets a CW re-imagining for Riverdale, in which a buff Archie has a dark secret, a tense rivalry with “emo hearthtrob” Jughead, and an Adderall-addicted Betty. Come, join our descent into madness.
The past year has seen an exponential rise in comic book TV shows, already on air with the likes of 'The Flash,' 'Gotham' and 'Constantine,' with 'Supergirl,' 'Daredevil' and many more to follow, but the latest comic series from producer Greg Berlanti is decidedly less super. Prepare for Archie, Jughead, Betty, Veronica and more to get their own live-action series, as FOX begins prepping its new 'Riverdale' drama!
